A blurb on what inspired me to create my artworks and aura painting

The Phoenix - Araba Fenice

Whilst spending time in Italy aura painting at the Ferrara Buskers Festivals I was commissioned a couple of paintings by my friend Gaia for her restaurant-pizzeria Scaccianuvole, Ferrara, Italy.

The first painting is called The Phoenix as I wanted this to represent a great new beginning for Gaia's new thriving business. To the back of the painting I added a good luck spell which I hope will bring happiness and success to the business and, most important, to my friend. Still working on the second painting. Wait and see...

SNR: a Saturday night of Renaissance Art in Seoul

A few weeks back I took part to this event organised by Mike Stewart from Jankura Artspace in Seoul, dedicated to Italian Renaissance Art. It was a real pleasure to be back at Jankura for this and Mike organised a great night which was very well attended!

Fist off we started with a drawing session with a model dressed like the Mona Lisa and posing as the Gioconda's painting (Mike painted a great background for it!!). The resemblance as a hole was truly uncanny!!!

Despite all the technical problems encountered with the setting up (a gigantic THANK YOU to James Greer for helping out on this), everything worked well in the end and the lecture on Italian Renaissance Art was very well received. My presentation caught a lot of interest from the crowd and we had an excellent Q&A session with lot of questions asked about the lives of Renaissance artists. I was truly impressed!!!

Whilst there I noticed that not only one of my paintings was still hanging on the wall of the art centre but one of my little sketches from the Hanbok (한복을 입은 여자) drawing session had been used by Mike in one of the advertising leaflets at Jankura!!!!!! I felt really flattered by that.

I would like to say thanks once again to Mike for organising the event and giving me the opportunity to talk about Art.
See you all again in Seoul!

Ferrara Buskers Festival: The Heroes

Upon my return to the UK and on the very eve of my departure for Korea I thought to post a final blog entry on the wonderful experience that Ferrara Buskers Festival has been. There are a few people that I would like to genuinely thank for all their help and support, my real personal heroes.

First and foremost, the person who not only suggested me to participate to the festival but also came to the rescue by offering accommodation, food (best ice cream ever), table and all what necessary to make my stall looking dashing, my friend Gaia, owner of Pinguino Gelateria and Scaccianuvole pizzeria.

Gaia from Pinguino and Scaccianuvole.

Then my thanks go to the 'keepers of the table', Katia and Ivan from Creative LizArt, who kindly kept my table (actually Gaia's) each night allowing me to go back and forward with easiness.

Ferrara Buskers Festival - The End

After a long week of what feels like a series of never ending painting sessions here we approach the very last day of the festival. What a successful week this has been!!!!! I did countless paintings each night. I have to say that seeing such a growth in popularity of my aura painting among the festival-goers  was really satisfying. And my little stall was really cool in candle light ~~~

A few snapshots of a number of happy customers. I was actually impressed with how generous some of the people were with regard of payment for their portrait (there has been only a couple who left with their paintings without paying a penny tut tut ㅠ.ㅠ!!!!). I would like to sincerely say thanks to all of them for being so kind. Tonight is the last night...feeling exhausted but already a little sad.

Ferrara Buskers Festival - first day!

What a great day I had at Ferrara Buskers Festival! My stand looked really dashing thanks to all the help received from my friend Gaia (whom after today I am tempted to employ as my very own personal agent!!!) and I had many happy customers leaving with a little personalised aura portrait. All of them really liked the idea of having their name written in hangul embedded into the portrait ㅋㅋㅋLooking forward to go back to more painting sessions over the next few days.

Please come and see me at work at the Giardino delle Duchesse square.

More updates to follow ~~~

Ferrara Buskers Festival - The beginning

After a wonderful yet short time wandering around museums in Venice I have now arrived in Ferrara ready for the Buskers Festival ~ Really happy!!!! Registration went smoothly in the usual totally chilled out and (dis)organised yet super relaxed Italian style. There is something great about Italian festivals as everybody seem to be totally relaxed and just there for the sake of having a great time....

Really grateful to my friend Gaia who came with me and helped me to plan my little aura painting stall + table setting at the allocated festival area whilst commissioning me a painting or two for her restaurant!

Looking forward to start painting today and create as many individual aura portraits as I can...if you live close to Ferrara and plan to head to the festival, do not forget to come and see me working!!!!

Come one, come all to the Ferrara Buskers festival!!!

Ferrara Buskers Festival 2013 - Here I come!!!!

With my great pleasure I have been selected as one of the accredited artists participating to the 26th edition of the Italian street artists festival called Ferrara Buskers Festival 2013.
I will be a graphic artist in the Esoteric area of the festival working on small size quick sketches in acrylics inspired by people's aura and inner energy. I am really looking forward to participate to this festival, something that I have always wanted to do, and it is a true honour having been selected for it.

The festival is on for little over a week but you will see me painting only from Sunday 26 till Saturday 31 August 2013. If you are going to be in Ferrara towards the end of August, please come and see me there!
I will post updates on my participation to the festival as soon these are available.

Cambridge Open Studios 2013

With many apologies for the long break....I am back now with lot of updates to follow!
Recently I have been helping out with the curatorial side of one of the exhibitions part of the Cambridge Open Studios 2013 event. The exhibition features the work of two fellow artists, Rog Palmer, photographer, and Virginia Neild, figurative artist, whose focus is on the world of performing arts. I have designed the exhibition poster and also helped with the image selection and promotional material for Rog Palmer’s Moments from a stream of continuous action

If you are around Cambridge over these weekends, please go and have a look at the exhibition.
