A few of my paintings have been selected for the Displaced Women: Multilingual Narratives of Migration in Europe international event website.
The interdisciplinary conference is held in Glasgow, UK this week (28-30 March 2012) as a forum for discussion of the issues facing women who have moved from one culture to another and have as a result adopted in their daily lives and for their creative work a language other than their ‘mother tongue’.
Having experienced cultural shock first-hand by relocating to different countries or cities in several occasions and still living with my heart very much split between Europe and Asia, I am truly honored to see my artwork featuring in this event.
The tree represents Artemis, the goddess of the wilderness, the hunt and wild animals, and female fertility.
